What About Feeling Weary? • This Feeling is Normal- • Matthew 28:20 “teach them to observe all things” • Luke 9:23 “deny himself…follow me” • 2 Timothy 3:12 “all who desire to love godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution” • Hopefully It Will Be Temporary- • Philippians 4:4 “Rejoice in the Lord always” • Revelation 21:4 “former things have passed away” • Philippians 3:14 “the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus”

  4. Wrong Ways to Become Weary • Becoming weary be doing evil – Jeremiah 9:5 • Romans 6:16-17 • Becoming weary to gain wealth – Proverbs 23:4,5 • Becoming weary in the futile pursuit of knowledge – Ecclesiastes 12:12 • 2 Timothy 2:15

Right Ways to Become Weary • Serving the Lord – Romans 12:11 • Example of Jesus – 1 Peter 2:21,22 • Philippians 2:5-8 • Work out our salvation – Philippians 2:12 • Do everything in the name of the Lord – Colossians 3:17 • Doing Good to Others – Galatians 6:9 • Provide for physical needs – Galatians 6:10 • James 2:15-17 • Provide for Spiritual Needs – Galatians 6:1,2 • Hebrews 3:12,13

  6. Right Ways to Become Weary • Working – 2 Thessalonians 3:11-13 • 2 Thessalonians 2:8 • Responsibility to provide for ourselves and families – 2 Thessalonians 3:10 • 1 Timothy 5:8 • Do our work heartily – Colossians 3:23

  7. How to Keep From Growing Weary • Keep your eyes on Jesus – Hebrews 12:2,3 • Get encouragement from others – Galatians 6:2 • 1 Corinthians 16:17,18 • Focus on your own work – 2 Thessalonians 3:11,12 • Ecclesiastes 5:12

  8. We Must Not Get To The Point Where We Lose Heart • Galatians 6:9 “And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.”
