  2. Leaven An influence, that spreading quietly and strongly, changes conditions or opinions. It modifies and tempers the surroundings. • Bringing a Christian influence of care, concern, respect and hope to those we meet

  3. Environment Definition: The sum of ideas, persons and circumstances which exist when people get together. It is the spirit generated by the atmosphere of the situation and the people in it.

  4. Within Groups of People • Certain ideas and attitudes are accepted • Certain types of behavior are encouraged • Certain personalities predominate • Certain spirit is generated

  5. Group Ideal Definition: The combination of individual ideals affected by the circumstances within the group and the society around it.

  6. Study of Environments • Determine the nature and influence of its spirit • What is the ideal within the environment • What is the motivating force and objectives • How are relationships affected • Consider the effect of the more encompassing environments (business, government, etc) • Appraise degree of influence • Weigh all factors carefully

  7. Study the Individuals What are their roles and ideals? • Apathetic – indifferent to God • Impulsive – consumerism, individualism • Fearful – demanding rules and regulations • Followers – casual involvement • Leaders – influence environments

Forming Relationships and Friendships Transforming Environments • Conscious and progressive conversion of our lives – (most important factor) • Work in manner of light, salt and leaven • Become a Leader • Join with others to change tone and direction • Treat people as “Children of God” • Daily Prayer

  9. Our Call Influence all of our environments through friendship Win the heart to open the mind …. invite them to follow Christ Our change can be the leaven that changes the rest
