  2. New York City • is the biggest and the most famous city ofUSA • location: Northeastern coast of USA • area: 1 214,4 km² • population: 8 336697 inhabitants • density: 10 640/km2 Obr. 1.

  3. New York City • important financial, cultural and commercial center of the USA • one of the world's largest natural harbors • consists of 5 parts-The Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, and Staten Island • founded by Dutch in 1624, named New Amsterdam Obr. 2.

Statue of Liberty • is a colossal sculpture placed on Liberty Island in the middle of New York Harbour • The statue was designed by Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi and dedicated on October 28, 1886 ( when french soldiers helped USA to fight for idependence) • was a gift to the USA from the people of France Obr. 5.
