At least 2 of the 3 free-response questions assess students’ ability to analyze across geographic scales to explain spatial relationships!!!!!
You have 15 minutes to answer the following question: AP classes are popular in many school districts and offer 'open door' enrollment i.e., anyone can take these courses. A. Describe (Give a detailed account using several sentences) the two top benefits you are expecting to get from taking AP courses such as Human Geography. B. Describe two challenges you know you face in AP classes based on your own habits. C. Explain (compare/apply, write a paragraph) two habits you already have OR will need to develop to be successful In AP classes and on the AP exam in May.
Writing the Perfect FRQ •Write in PEN and in COMPLETE SENTENCES •Keep your paper organized (no paragraphs) and label A, B, C, D, etc. •Do not use contractions, abbreviations, or slang •Write in third person (no I, you, us, etc) •No intro or conclusion paragraph •Skip lines between parts of the FRQ •Write like a textbook •Remember, Geographers do not care about what you feel, only what you know
