Expectations of public services are being transformed in the internet age. 3. Technology has significant potential to completely transform public services, by making entirely new services and products possible. 4. The workforce needs to be developed in partnership to use modern technology to transform public services.

A national strategic approach to technology-enabled learning, working in concert with telehealth and ehealth Telehomecare Teleconsultation, Telenursing Telehealth and Telecare delivery Telehealth and Telecare delivery Clinical systems to collect,transmit, organise patient data Healthcare Call Centres Underpins Technology-Enabled Learning: Internet-based health information and education –e.g. websites, social networking, elearning Wider educational use of information and telecomms technology – e.g. videoconferencing, webconferencing, decision support

  6. Outcomes Synergies in technology are revolutionising healthcare and learning. By March 2018: • The health and social care workforce at all levels will be widely enabled to use technology to support transformation of health and social care. • The health and social care workforce will acquire knowledge and learning to support frontline practice and decision making through an integrated learning technology platform.

  7. Supporting eHealth Strategy and Telehealthcare Delivery Plan • Improve the availability of appropriate information for healthcare workers and the tools to use and communicate that information effectively to improve quality; • Empower people by raising awareness, evidencing and sharing benefits for individuals and carers; • Maximise efficient working practices. • Exchange learning, develop and embed good practice – education, leadership, sharing experience.

  8. Technology-enabled learning methods that help to change practice. • On-screen, point of care computer reminders • Clinical decision support. • Use of standard quality pathways • Audit and feedback • Interactive education – meetings, workshops, online communities, social networking. • Rapid-response educational technologies – alerts to new knowledge.
