Investigar o desempenho de indivíduos alcoólicos em habilidades lingüísticas, a fim de esclarecer as manifestações encontradas após uso excessivo de álcool, em relação à compreensão, memória, funções atencionais e funções executivas. Alterações de linguagem em alcoolistas MÉTODO OBJETIVOS Foram selecionados 30 voluntários em atendimento no Grupo dos Alcoólicos Anônimos (AA). Todos responderam questionário de auto-avaliação sobre as dificuldades decorrentes ao uso prolongado do álcool, logo após foram submetidos a uma bateria de testes cognitivos lingüísticos.

  3. Foram detectados índices abaixo da normalidade para a bateria de teste aplicada, sendo confirmadas tais dificuldades em um questionário de auto-avaliação aplicado antes das avaliações. Alterações de linguagem em alcoolistas CONCLUSÕES RESULTADOS O uso prolongado do álcool pode comprometer a linguagem e funções cognitivas, como, memória operacional, semântica e atenção; influenciando indiretamente a comunicação do individuo e consecutivamente em suas atividades de vida diária.
