SSR Week #1 2/7/14 • Write a one page reflection on your book. Be sure to include the following: • What book you chose • The genre of your book (mystery, adventure, horror, etc) • Why you chose this book • A description of the front/back cover and your predictions based on this information • Any characters, setting, or conflicts that have been introduced so far.
SSR Week #2 2/28/14 • Write a one page comprehensive summary of your book so far. • Be sure to include: • Characters • Conflicts • Setting • Major Events • Also include a prediction of what you believe may happen next.
SSR Week #3 3/7/14 • Look at the list of writing prompts. Choose no more than 4 to write a one page reflection of your book. • What you write about is up to you—you may continue to reflect on the book you have been reading or if you have a new book you may write about why you chose this new book and what you think it may be about.
SSR Week #4 3/14/14 • A person’s trash can be very personal. Suppose you are rummaging through the trash of your main character. • What would you find in the trash? Provide logical explanations of what you would likely find and why it would be there. • For example, “I would find ____ in my character’s trash because…” • Your response should be one page! Be creative!!
SSR Week #5 3/21/14 • Look at the back cover of your book and read the “blurb” (what the book will be about). • Imagine your life is now a book. Write the “blurb” for your life as a book (1 page). • Be sure to include: • the genre (mystery, adventure, etc.) your life would fall into • Major events that would be included • Any other characters that would be in your book
