Community Context Audits • It’s about project delivery • MAP-21 (P.L. 112-141) • Creates a streamlined and performance-based surface transportation program. • Promotes accelerating project delivery and encourages innovation through the increased use of programmatic approaches and planning, and environment linkages. • Every Day Counts Initiative • Initiative is designed to transform the way FHWA does business. • Three areas were identified for initial focus: • Shortening project delivery • Accelerating technology and innovation deployment • and FHWA's Going Greener initiative

Public Involvement • Every project is unique...is your public involvement approach? • Public Involvement Plan (PIP) – required for every project. • Varies in scope for each NEPA document classification: • Categorical Exclusion (CE) • Environmental Assessment (EA) • Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) • State project or Local Public Agency (LPA) using federal dollars.

Greencastle Streetscape • Purpose • Improve pedestrian safety and revitalize the connection corridor between DePauw University Campus and Greencastle’s downtown. • Address storm water quantity issues. • Improve pavement and sub-grade stability. • Enhance ADA compliance through project upgrades. • Enhance pedestrian facilities • Provide plantings and/or trees. • Street furniture, lighting, trash receptacles
