  2. Collaborative groups • Finish the epic have any conversations about the epic that naturally evolve as you read. Check for understanding of content. Are your reading closely enough to hear the interjections of the scribe? • Make sure you read the excerpt from Grendel on page 51-53; it is on the exam. • Have a thoughtful discussion based on “after reading” page 54:1a-5b • Know alliteration and motif • Have a conversation about Collaborative Cultures. Be prepared to share your ideas from your group • Generate a list of kennings. Make sure take a close look at 55, and see the relationship between kennings and compound words. • Test on the intro and the epic and the Grendel excerpt Wednesday. • Review epic hero and the vocabulary and the intro to the era
