Event Timeline • 1-28-43 Jackie graduated from Officer candidate school as a second lieutenant. • Jackie became engaged to Rachel Isum. • He was honorably discharged from the Army. • Jackie tried out for the Kansas City Monarchs baseball team. He made the team as a shortstop.
Event Timeline • August 28, 1945- Mr. Rickey of the Brooklyn Dodgers wanted Jackie to play for him • Feb 10, 1946- Jackie and Rachel were married. • March 17, 1946-Jackie played for the Montreal Royals, the farm team for the Dodgers
