Department of Economics and Informatics • 4 divisions (Informatics, Media informatics, Business Administration and Law, Political science and Economics) • Today about 75 teachers 1 800 students in 2006 • Study programs on Bachelor level in Business Administration, Political Science and Informatics • Masters program in Informatics and Management (for Business Administration students) and E-services (for informatics students)
International Programme in Politics and Economics • Multi-disciplinary programme focusing on giving students advanced and integrated knowledge in International Politics and Economics • Many cources are taught in english and open for exchange students • Students normally take at least one semester abroad • Collobaration with universities in many countries. For example Denmark, Switzerland, Hungary, South Africa, Egypt and Germany
Business Administration and Economics • Courses in english in areas as Financial Economics, Health and Fitness Marketing, Organisation and leadership, Micro Economics, Macro Economics and more
Informatics • Informatics = Information Systems (Wirtschaftsinformatik) • 2 Masters programme fully thought in English and open for exchange students. Both with 60 ECTS • Informatics and Management are for students with a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration and focus on how Information Systems and Information Technology in an applied way can be used to support and improve work within Business Administration
Informatics • Masters Programme E-services in the Network Society is for students with a Bachelor Degree in Informatics/Information Systems • Has a focus on how both working and private life is changing because of IT-use and how we can use this in the best possible way • Design and best use of information systems to different demands like for instance e-government, e-learning and e-business are focus areas
Research in informatics • E-learning • Business Intelligence • Media Informatics • User-oriented design and development • E-government
International exchange • Exchange students are very welcome • It is not as cold as many think (even if we often for a month or two in the wintertime have snow) • Sweden is very cheap for foreigners (from most countries) • Most Swedes speak English (and some even German) • Even if Sweden is scarely populated we have cities and Swedish students know how to party as well
