  1. Educational Issues and Trends Issues Budget cuts in schools. Schools are becoming very over populated. Increase in Bullying in schools. Violence in schools. Increase in gangs in schools. Trends There is more diversity in schools at every level. Every year classes are getting larger in size.

  2. Bullying Bullying- a blustering, quarrelsome, overbearing person who habitually badgers and intimidates smaller and weaker people. I choose this issue because I think bullying is increasing in schools everywhere. I graduated 3 years ago and I saw a lot of bullying in the halls of Preble High School. When I saw one of my fellow classmates being bullied I would walk right up to the bully and say something to him/her. Bullying never settle well with me. Just because someone is less fortunate than you does not mean you have to bully them.

  3. Components of bullying Bullying may affect children long term whether its social, emotionally, and or psychologically. This will especially happen to children with special needs. Children that are bullied may not be able to concentrate on their studies. Children that are bullied may not want to go to their classes or even to school because they don’t want to be humiliated by the bully or they may even be too scared to face the bully. If children report of having frequent headaches, tummy aches, that they sleep poorly at night, wet the bed, and or feel sad; children that report these symptoms also report that they are being bullied. Bullying is a abuse it is considered child abuse or peer abuse. This is an abuse of power and is surrounded by fear, secrecy and a misplaced loyalty to the perpetrator. Bullying may also lead children to do things that they don’t want to or they feel they need to do to fit in. This could lead bullied children to drink, smoke, do drugs, have sexual relations at an early age or even commit suicide it the bullying gets really bad.

  4. Bullying affects the community and school district If bullying got really bad: There could be a lot of children depressed in the school and or community. The suicide rate could increase in the schools and community. The attendance in the school district could drop. The grades of the children could drop which is bad for the school district. The drug rate in schools and community could rise. The underage drinking rate could also rise in the schools and community.

  5. The role and the affect of the Instructional Assistant Role: The role for the Instructional Assistant would be to really keep a close eye in the class room and in the hallways. If the Instructional Assistant saw bullying happening she/he should bring the bully right down to the principle or social services. The could really affect the victim in the long run. Bullying is not something to mess around with. Affect: bullying may not affect the Instructional Assistant but this would affect me because I hate to see children suffer when they don’t have to. This would make me sad, just because one child is less fortunate or acts away that most children don’t doesn’t mean that they should get bullied and have to be put through getting made fun of, laughed at, or even pushed around and teased. I believe that every bully should get disciplined!
