  2. Webinar Goals • Provide a forum for discussion among consortium and center directors. • Share and identify best practices for helping keep your organization viable now and in the future.

  3. Webinar Format • Facilitated discussion – everyone brings knowledge and ideas to the group. • Specific areas for discussion will be identified and participants are encouraged to share their experiences and ideas.

  4. Topic Outline • Positioning • Communicating • Promoting • Building relationships • Value added & return on investment • Thinking big • Change is good

  5. Positioning • Organizational focus--Who are we? • Shared vision--What do we do…or not do? • Clear mission--Do we need to re-evaluate or re-align?

  6. Communicating • Communicating up, down, and sideways • Telling the story • Networking

  7. Promoting • Believe in it, then sell it • Getting the message out • Using the tools you are given • Celebrating successes

  8. Building Relationships • Commitment and involvement--Is your board on board? • Trust and transparency • Face time and the personal touch • Planting seeds and pulling weeds • Thanksgiving--giving credit where credit is due
