What is REACH? • Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals • New EU Regulation that became in law on 1 June 2007 • REACH places greater responsibility on industry to manage the risks that chemicals may pose to the health and the environment
Reach Scope • All substances manufactured or imported into the EU at 1 ton per year or more per manufacturer/importer • Includes substances supplied at over 1 ton per year in articles (per producer or importer) if substance is intended to be released during normal and reasonably foreseeable conditions of use

The Egyptian National Coordination Committee Achievements 1st :Criteria for the selection of Only Representatives • Insure that the OR has the required legal and scientific capacities to deal with the REACH requirements • Presence of a reference list should be an advance • Affiliated to well established and recognized associations (federations, research entities..) • Listed at of the international Reach networks (Helsinki reach helpdesk..) • The presence of regional or local representatives for the OR should be an advance • The contract between clients and OR should not contain penalties on the clients incase the client required to terminate the contract
