The Awesome Government. By: Mikaela and Ashley. The Government. Each of the 50 states sends 2 people to the senate. So there are a total of 100 senators. Congress has two parts, the house of Representatives and the senate. Serves a term of 6 Years.

  2. The Government • Eachof the 50 states sends 2 people to the senate. So there are a total of 100 senators. • Congress has two parts, the house of Representatives and the senate. • Serves a term of 6 Years. • No limit on the number of terms a senator can serve.

  3. The Government • Be at least 35 years old to be president. • Be a U.s. citizen for the past 9 years. • Live in the state they represent. • 100 members,2 for each state. • 435 members apportioned to each state based on population.

  4. The Government • The executive branch of government makes sure that the laws of the United states are obeyed. • The president leads the army, navy, and marine corps. • The supreme court is the highest court in nation. • The legislative branch is made up of congress.

The Government • The Declaration of Independence is a letter to King George of England that said the 13 colonies wanted to be independent. • Vice president takes over if the president becomes too ill to continue in office or dies. • Cabinet to official advisors determined by the president. • Includes administrative heads of executive departments of the federal government and others appointed by the president .

The Government • Resigns for any reason unable to hold his office. • The president is the head of the executive branch of Government. • This branch is very large so the president gets help from the vice president. • The constitution provides for a president pro tempore to preside over the senate in the absence of the vice president.
