  1. FESS Awards On May 31st, United Way honored Executive Director Shelly Willis with the 2013 Community Impact Award Shelly Willis responded by saying:“I am genuinely grateful to the United Way for their all their many good deeds.  They have touched thelives and hearts of many.  This award is truly a tribute to the staff, board and partners of Family Education and SupportServices.  Who are dedicated to helping parents find hope- sometimes buried deep within themselves. I am ofteninspired by those we serve, and the determination and fortitude they display.  We all know that it takes a village to make a difference in the lives of those who need us most.Mother Teresa has a quote that says “We think sometimes that poverty is only being hungry, naked and homeless.  The poverty of being unwanted, unloved and uncared for is truly the greatest poverty.  We must start in our own homes to remedy this kind of poverty today.  It is an honor to live and work in a community which rises to this challenge with such relentless compassion. Thank you very much for this award.
