Animal cell and plant cell Differences and Similarities Animal Cell Similarities Plant Cells • Golgi body • Cytoplasm • Lysosome • Ribosome • Plasma membrane • Mitochondria • Nuclear membrane • Cilia -Cell membrane -Nucleus -Cytoplasm -Rough endoplasmic Reticulum -Ribosome -Lysosome -mitochondria -Mitochondria -Ribosome -rough endoplasmic -Reticulum -Plasma membrane -Smooth endoplasmic Reticulum -Lysosome -Nucleus -Cytoplasm

  4. The Cell A cell is a living thing. Some organisms, such a bacteria, includes of just a single cell. It can take nutrients, and takes these nutrients into energy, Carry out special specialized functions, and reproduce as necessary.

  5. Nucleus The nucleus is the control center. It directs all the cell’s activities. In a plant and animal cells, the nucleus is surrounded by a membrane. Cells with a nuclear membrane are known as eukaryotic cells.

  6. Mitochondria Mitochondria, are circular or rod-shaped organelles. They are referred as the power plants of the cells. They provide cells with energy. Mitochondria release energy by combining sugar molecules with oxygen molecules to form carbon dioxide and water.

  7. The Vacuole The vacuole is filled up with water and nutrients. In a plant cell however, the vacuole takes up much larger part of the cytoplasm. The vacuole is a store waste that is produced or absorbed by a plant

  8. The Cell Wall The cell wall protects and supports the plant wall. Some plant cells have a single wall but others have a second cell wall that provides extra support and strength. Gases, water, and some minerals can pass through small openings in the cell wall.

  9. Cilia Some special cells have a cilia, tiny hairs work together to move a cell or to move the fluid surrounding the cell. Not all cells have a cilia.

  10. Organelles of a cell An organelles a specialized subunit within a cell that has specific function.

  11. The difference between Prokaryotes and Eukaryotes prokaryotes similarities eukaryotes
