  2. Introduction • There is so much that is not explained by science, such as possessions, ghost sightings, and Biblical stories that there is no doubt that a form of a paranormal realm exists.

  3. Beginning of Evil • The first Christian accounts of evil when Lucifer, God’s right hand, fell from heaven and became the Devil. • Demons were created from the other fallen angels who rebelled against God.

  4. Phenomenon in the Church • The Miracle of Our Lady Guadalupe in 1531. • A man named Juan claimed to see a “Beautiful Lady” who made requests of him which were supposedly sent by God.

  5. Possession and Exorcism • All forms of exorcism attempt to rid the person of evil possession. • Once demons possess something or someone it is said to be almost impossible to get rid of them without the use of religious rituals. • There are many doubts of real possession because sometimes mental diseases such as schizophrenia and hysteria can look like possession.

  6. Demons Vs. Ghosts • DEMONS • Have never been people. • Motivated by fear, hatred, and pride. • Hate God and mankind and are considered to be extremely dangerous. • GHOSTS • Souls of spirits who are not at rest. • Driven for a desire for attention, or have an unresolved issue from their life.

More info on Ghosts • Humans are all spirits encased in a physical body. • Ghosts tend to either haunt the scenes of their deaths or a place that was pleasant to them during life. • Ghosts that haunt with a purpose are called “Intelligent haunting”. • These are the type of ghosts that are able to interact with the living.

  8. Ghostly Photographs • Freddy Jackson Photograph. • This is a picture of Goddard’s squadron, soldiers who had served in WW1. Taken in 1919. • In the group picture is an extra face clearly seen standing behind one of the airman. • Once the photo was developed the other soldiers easily recognized the man as Freddy Jackson. • Freddy was an air mechanic who had accidentally been killed by an airplane propeller two days before the picture was taken. • His funeral was held on the very day this picture was taken.

  9. Conclusion • Throughout time there have always been stories of the paranormal. • It fascinates us as humans and we may never know what is really out there. • Critics and believers alike, the paranormal still manage to confound us all.
