Overview • Updated Block Diagram • Schematic Considerations
Block Diagram GPIO x14
Schematic Considerations • Want to isolate analog signal (unconverted audio) from power and various digital signals • Can assign various peripherals on the PIC24 and dsPIC to pins (Peripheral Pin Select) • Need 5V to power ADC, amplifier, filter, LCD • Need 3.3V to power dsPIC, PIC24 • Want 4.2V for LCD backlight (use 5V with resistor)
DSP Connections • 2 SPI • ADC • PIC24 • Programming header
PIC24 Connections • 2 SPI • DSP • SD Card • 21 GPIO • 14 for LCD interface • 2 for RPG • 2 for buttons • 3 for LEDs • Programming header
Other Considerations • Want headers on SPI lines for debugging • Need headers to connect buttons, RPG, LEDs, LCD to board • Because peripherals can be mapped to pins, want to choose pins to minimize size • Possible conflict with attempt to isolate analog signals
