Who we are • We want ideas with commercial impact (societal benefit is a big plus). • We fund proposals that “overlap” with other agencies. We give grants, not contracts. Most awardees have never received an SBIR grant.
No Topic Focus We accept proposals from all areas of technology. We want the most technically RISKY ideas. We want something that has never been done – something truly innovative.
Commercialization Focus We’ll take the technical risk, but not the commercial risk. You must define your market opportunity. We won’t fund a proposal without commercial potential. We only fund research & development. Proposals are reviewed by people with technical & entrepreneurial expertise.
