Task: • chairs of COPS ISSC (Wulfmeyer) and D-PHASE SSC (Rotach) contacted met. services for data agreement under the roof of the MAP data policy • collect GTS and non-GTS surface and upper air data (SYNOP, TEMP/PILOT) from the national weather services in a wider Central European area for 2007 for COPS and D-PHASE • process the data at U Vienna (no data quality control at all) • convert all data in NetCDF (one NetCDF-file type) • upload the NetCDF files to the WDCC at MPIM Dorninger, et al.   8. NetCDF file • Time series of each station are defined and stored. • One file contains all parameters for the whole year in the • highest available time resolution. The netCDF files are constructed • following the CF-1.0 convention. • file name convention • <country_ code>_ <institution (3 or 4 digit abbreviation>_ • <WMOstation_number> or <internal_station_number><gt> or <ng> • e.g.: AT_ZAMG_11035gt for GTS-station Wien Hohe Warte • data storage • final version at WDCC • intermediate version at U Vienna, Department of Meteorology and • Geophysics Dorninger, et al.
