CONGRATULATIONS! • YOU HAVE TAKEN ON QUITE A CHALLENGE---MOST LIKELY MORE THAN ONE OF THESE CHALLENGES! • AP COURSES ARE DESIGNED TO FOLLOW A RIGOROUS COLLEGE FORMAT • BASED ON YOUR PERFOMANCE ON AP EXAMS, YOU MAY EARN COLLEGE CREDIT • STUDENTS WHO SCORE 3 OR HIGHER ON AP EXAMS TEND TO EARN HIGHER GPAs IN COLLEGE

TIMELINE • REGISTRATION DEADLINES: • Regular Registration begins Sept. 12th at 2 pm • Regular Registration ends Oct. 12th at 11:59 pm • Late Registration ($5 late fee) begins Oct. 13th, at 12:01 a.m. • Late Registration ENDS Oct. 25th at 11:59 • APRIL 28th, PRIDE Block – PRETEST INFO SESSION (Mandatory) • MAY 4th – MAY 15th AP EXAMS

  4. REGISTRATION • All AP Exam registrations and payments will be completed online via Total Registration. To access this site go to: www.TotalRegistration.net/AP/220575 • Once you register on Total Registration you will get the Join Code for each AP class. Do NOT share these codes with anyone. • You will then sign in to myap.collegeboard.org with your CB student account login. • See handout for details on how to join your specific AP class section • If your join code does not work, email Mr. Vitale at vitalec@chelmsford.k12.ma.us . Please allow 24 hours for the issue to be fixed. • REVIEW THE INFORMATION FORM AND SHARE WITH YOUR PARENTS TONIGHT!

COLLEGE BOARD ACCOUNT INFO • How/where do you do this? • myap.collegeboard.org • Students should use one College Board account  • Should have from previous CB tests (PSAT, SAT, AP, Subject) • LEGAL NAME • You will now have a permanent AP number – Same AP number each year • If you have an existing account but experience difficulty in recovering your username or password, you will be able to create an AP 2019-20 Interim Account so you can still access the class material • Call 888-225-5427 with issues …AP Services for Students

Joining Your AP Class Section • Sign in to  https://myap.collegeboard.org/login • Click the Join a Course button • Enter the join code • You will now see the AP Class and specific section you are enrolled in • The first time you enroll in an AP course in MY AP, you will need to fill out some registration information: • Be sure to provide accurate information • You will only need to do this when joining your first course

WHAT IF I CHOOSE NOT TO TEST? • If you elect not to take your AP test(s) you will be able to get your class Join Code from your AP teacher AFTER you fill out the Google Form indicating your choice NOT to test. Once that form is completed and submitted, you may get the join code from your AP class teacher.

TESTING ACCOMMODATIONS • If you require testing accommodations and plan to use them, visit: https://apstudent.collegeboard.org/takingtheexam/testing-accommodations • If you do not know your SSD number, you must contact CHS’ SSD Coordinator, Mrs. Vitale (Rm. 213) at: vitalej@chelmsford.k12.ma.us • Deadline to request accommodations if you do not yet have an SSD number is JANUARY 17, 2020 (No extensions on this College Board deadline, so plan accordingly)

  9. FEE REDUCTIONS • Students who qualify for Free & Reduced Lunch may receive a fee reduction for the exam • You must check the appropriate box during registration • For information to qualify for low-income assistance, visit: https://apstudent.collegeboard.org/takingtheexam/exam-fees

  10. PRETEST INFO SESSION MANDATORY PRETEST SESSION will be held Tuesday, April 28th during Pride Block

  11. TEST DATES & TIMES • May 4th – May 15th • 8 AM, 12 PM, 2PM • You may leave school after your morning AP test. • You do not need to come in for morning classes before a 12 pm AP test. • We will be starting the test instructions at 7:45 and 11:45 so the tests can finish earlier than in previous years. • THERE ARE NO OPTIONS FOR BEING TARDY FOR A TEST! TESTING START TIMES ARE HARD TIMES. BE EARLY! IF YOU ARE ON TIME, YOU ARE LATE

LATE (MAKE-UP) TESTING: 5/20 -5/22 • If you miss a test, there are options to make it up (if you choose to do so): • If you simply miss the test, then you pay a change of exam fee and take it on a retake date • For allowed circumstances, such as sickness, religious holidays, natural disaster, another exam, etc., no fee will be added, but you MUST let us know if you are not able to make a test date. • You may not test early, nor test later in the day (i.e. tardy to school, game, etc.). You may not leave the test site until the test is over.

  13. TEST REFUNDS/CANCELLATION • If you sign up for your AP tests after the deadline, you will pay a $40 College Board late fee • Full refund is available up through November 6th • From November 6th through March 11th a refund of $58 will be issued ($106 for AP Seminar/Research) • After March 11th there is a $40 College Board College Board cancellation fee, so…payments are non-refundable after March 11thAND an additional $40 College Board cancellation fee will be charged • Please note: CHS has earlier deadlines for registration than what is listed on college board’s website

EARNING COLLEGE CREDIT FOR YOUR AP SCORES • VISIT: https://apstudent.collegeboard.org/creditandplacement/how-to-earn-credit-for-your-scores to learn how to earn credit for your scores. • If you are accepted to a school or awaiting acceptance, you should research your school’s policies regarding AP credit. • Deciding to attend a school that does not accept AP scores after you register for the test does not qualify for a refund
