Closing Remarks David Plane
How are we doing ? • Papers – slowly, but surely, (see Pippa’s talk) apart from :WW cross-section paper. Please still encourage Graham if you see him. • 31 analyses ongoing.21 in Editorial Boards. • Conferences :Please let is know if you want to give a talk somewhere. There are still opportunities – keep speaker list uptodate.EPS – discreet contacts already made. Start negotiating seriously next week. • CERN relay race – OPAL had 2 teams !!!!! Please train for next year. • An OPAL “Week” in November/December ?
Long-Term Editorial Board • “Future Use of OPAL Data” Foresaw LTEB in “archive mode” for : • Technical assistance, • Publication review. • New Proposal. Expand role of LTEB, and start it sooner. • Take over from Physics Coordinators “handling of OPAL papers (from summer 2005). • “Handling” includes Setting up EBs, thoroughly reading dispatches before and after public readings, and checking replies to journal referees.
Long-Term Editorial Board • LTEB : pool of experts who can be called upon to handle paper production. Note that they will appoint EBs (and that EBs continue to exist). For every paper, 2 members of the LTEB will replace the Physics Coordinators. • LTEB membership : Not yet decided – typically might be former PCs, WG Convenors etc. who are still committed to OPAL.
The last slide !!! • Thanks to you all for coming. • Thanks to Physics Coordinators for organizing the week. Look forward to many more papers !!!!
