  4. FIRST IMPRESSIONS 2. POSTURE – lean slightly forward

  5. FIRST IMPRESSIONS 3. HANDSHAKE grip firmly without hurting the person; be professional

  6. FIRST IMPRESSIONS 4. DRESS AND GROOMING – properly dressed; clean; hair combed, not in eyes; beware of scents that could trigger allergies.

  8. FIRST IMPRESSIONS 6. TONE OF VOICE AND WORD CHOICE- Convey warmth and caring

  12. Now, it is time for you to practice the 8 cues. Please volunteer to role play one or more of them.

  13. Assignment: Your sub will pass out a form that you must complete by next Monday. You are to approach 3 different adults on this campus and introduce yourself using the 8 cues. Be sure to practice in advance. You may ask teachers, principals, counselors. Mr. Deeken is a sure bet at lunch.
