  1. CAMP KAITAWA By Kaitlin Cotter

  2. Camp Yes, the day had finally come to go to Camp Kaitawa, on a nice sunny day with a little breeze. Adventures were still to come. Getting to know the camp, climbing tall mountains, beautiful bush walks, muddy caves and smoky fires. What a really awesome week to come!!!

  3. Monday We finally got to camp after a long car trip which seemed to take forever. We settled into camp and we were off again for a little walk around camp. First we saw the Green Lake which was so beautiful but it was cold. Secondly we walked up the Pipeline which was very tiring and we did it for nothing because we had to walk back down again ( but that was better than walking up). We got back to camp and did a few chores, had supper and a few seconds later all I could hear was zzzzzzz.

  4. Tuesday The Ngamoko walk had amazing views. We saw the Rata tree which was 800-1000 years old and it was really tall. We got barley sugars, moro bars and scroggin on the way. We also stopped near the top for some yummy lunch. Lots of people slipped over on the way down and had injuries. We got back and had warm showers. We had dinner and then it was amazing to see everyone asleep so fast. It was a great experience.

  5. Wednesday Wow the Papakorito Waterfalls were amazing and they started from really high up. We saw a few of them. We did another big walk to the Lake and had lunch right beside it. We did the Confidence Course when we got back. We did it in little groups of four or five. We had showers then after dinner four or five of us did the log book. Once we had finished we went to bed.

  6. Thursday Going through 8 caves was awesome. We had to crawl through mud and tiny holes that we had to squash through. We drove to the Redoubt to have some lunch. We had a rugby game and made a human Pyramid. We went to do the cookout. My group made Nachos, yum yum !!! We roasted marshmallows and then we were off to bed. What an awesome day we had.

  7. Friday We woke up and then walked down to a big paddock to play some games. After that we walked back and then we were off back to school. On the way back we stopped in Wairoa to have some lunch. After that we were off again. We got back to school and heaps of parents were waiting. That was an awesome camp. I liked the cookout the best and the Confidence Course. IT WAS THE BEST CAMP EVER!!!
