INTRODUCTION in January 2011, Sociologist Yu JianRong opened an account on the popular Chinese microblog; Sina Weibo, to encourage people to take a photo of abandoned children to help them come back home with their families.
INTRODUCTION Yu started his campeign before the Chinese New Year holiday. A few days later, there were lots of information and pictures were posted there, and the audience of the blog devoloped in the tens of thousands. This was a success in children rescuing according to the news media in China.
INTRODUCTION Yu gave the interview that the influence of social media which can change the social environment. On the other hand, China’s Central Propaganda Department ceased Yu’s project and criticize on his project.

NOTABLE Problem Issue • Chinese government state chose to officially ignore the 20-year anniversary of the crackdown on the Tiananmen Square democracy movement in June 2009.

Chinese Microblog Service • Sina launched its microblog service, Sina Weibo in August 2009. • Sina has grown about 100 million registered users in February 2011, that Facebook had to reach that number by four years. • It incorporates various functions of social media features, like upload images and videos direstly into theirfeeds, and post their short status like Twitter.
