  2. Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind. (1 Peter 2:1, NIV)

  3. Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth so that you have sincere love for each other, love one another deeply, from the heart. (1:22, NIV)

  4. Sharing To be honest, I do not like NIV. For this verse, I actually prefer the translation by ESV.

  5. Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth for a sincerebrotherly love, love one another earnestly from a pure heart … (1:22-25, ESV)

  6. Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind. (1 Peter 2:1, NIV)

  7. So put away all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander. (1 Peter 2:1, ESV)

  8. Put away = take off or remove a piece of clothing

  9. A New Appetite Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk … (2a, NIV)

  10. The Result … so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good. (2b-3)

  12. “You are the light of the world ... let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. (Mat 5:14-16)
