Establishment of the University On 8 July 2000 the foundation-stone of Patuakhali Science and Technology University was set up with the framework of former Patuakhali Agricultural College by then Prime Minster of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. Her Excellency Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina 8th July, 2000
Vision and Mission of the University Vision: Patuakhali Science and Technology University aspires to be a home of excellence for producing competent professionals with improved knowledge and skills to meet national and global challenges. Mission: Patuakhali Science and Technology University provides cutting-edge education, research, training and develops entrepreneurship at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels for creating skilled and enlightened personnel to serve the nation.

Why BECK is important to us/institution ? • Through BECK, PSTU will participate in developing MOOC modules for BSc/specialists, MSc and PhD and lifelong learning; • BECK will help us to establish modern multi-disciplinary courses linked to climate change and consumer behaviour related to energy efficiency in the built environment; • Capacity development: Teacher, Staff, Student;
Why BECK is important to us/institution ?... • Strengthening educational and scientific collaboration and networking with partner universities; • BECK will provide opportunities to get involved with the Simulated Big Data Interuniversity Networked Affective Educational Centre (the BECK Centre) where disciplines will provide their data, information and knowledge; and • The centre will help to share resources among the partner universities for educational and research purposes in the personalised way.
What value can we/the institution add to BECK? PSTU will be engaged in • WP1-Preparation for Project Activities • WP2-Development of New Modules on Consumer’s Behaviour Related to Energy Efficiency and Climate Change • WP3-Development and Exploitation of the Simulated Big Data Interuniversity Networked Affective Educational Centre • WP4-Quality Assurance • WP5-Dissemination and Exploitation of project results • WP6-Management
What value can we/the institution add to BECK?... • PSTU with Partners will develop 3 B.Sc/specialists courses to be integrated into existing study programmesB.Sc Land Management and Administration (Honors) and B.Sc. Disaster Management (Honors). • PSTU will assist in the innovative Simulated Big Data Inter Academy Networked Affective Educational Centre development and promotion within the country. • PSTU students will study new integrated adaptive, recognized and certificated MOOC modules on consumer’s behavior related to energy efficiency and climate change both virtually and in the classes at least for one year. • The work assumes developed analysis, organization of virtual training courses for the staff. This activity will help build appropriate e-educational infrastructure in participating countries. PSTU will host the coordination and BECK Centre review meeting in Patuakhali on March 2020.
