  18. Detailed Flight Brief • Below Class B (1200 feet) • Out of 8NM Arc • Loose Formation, practice, get comfortable Close Formation

  19. Close Vs. Loose Formation • Loose = ~ 2 times the distance • When changing to Loose: • Outer Wingmen (4,5) Make Room • Inner Wingmen (2,3) SLOWLY slide out (on 450 Line) • Changing to Close • Inner Wingmen Approach • Outer Wingmen Wait till Inner are Stabilized • No Need For Wingmen Communication

  20. Towards Manhattan • Request Class B (2000’) clearance • Climb, loose formations • Before Governors Island – Gather

  31. Before Talking about the Main Thing • Ramp Update? • Questions? • Concerns? Ramp Plan

  32. Safety is our MAIN Mission • Treat it as flight of single aircraft • PIC • Papers • Aircraft Prep – Check Your Aircraft! • Cockpit Communications Briefing for RH Pilot • Routine procedures – DO NO CHANGE!!!

  33. Safety (continued) • Aircraft Malfunction • Do NOT takeoff with faulty aircraft • Plan your actions – if you need to separate – OUT • #2, #3 – separate out gradually • Look for RED • Be Prepared

  34. Mission • Primary – ZERO safety incidents • Secondary – enjoy • Third – fly formation Coordinate and Feeling uncomfortable? Leave the formation to fly alone
