Set up for seaming horizontal to vertical Bars Between Stitches Bound Off Edge Selvedge Edge VVVV Stitches
General Instructions 1. Find and mark the center of the top of the sleeve. 2. Align the center of the sleeve at the bound off edge to the shoulder seam right sides facing. 3. Cut a length of yarn long enough to seam the entire sleeve and thread a bunt tapestry needle. 4. Insert the needle into the center of the first stitch in the center of the sleeve and bring it up into the center of the next stitch. 5. Bring the needle under the first horizontal bar on the body. 6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 three more times.* On the next row, use two horizontal bars. Continue in this manner. 7. Go back to the shoulder seam and seam the other side. Pull the seaming thread tight. *This ratio will work for most gauges. CHECK YOUR GAUGE FIRST. You may need to change the ratio. Most reference works suggest a ratio of 3 stitches to 4 rows or 4 stitches to 5 rows. When in doubt, work two swatches and use trial and error.
