  1. Charles's Law and Boyle’s Law A study of gas laws

  2. What is a Gas? A Gas is The state of matter in which substances have no definite shapes, and expand to fill their containers. “This is not the type of gas I am talking about!” “Now this is the type of GAS I am talking about!” O2

  3. Charles's Law Charles’s Law states that temperature and volume are directly related to one another. “Don’t take my word for it, look at the application… use this website as an example of how it works” http://www.chem.iastate.edu/group/Greenbowe/sections/projectfolder/flashfiles/gaslaw/charles_law.html

  4. Volume Temperature Charles's Law Graph “WOW this graph makes it look like Volume and temperature are directly related, or related linearly” ITS TRUE!

  5. Charles's Law Continued... “Now doesn’t it seem to reason that since there is a relationship, there might be an equation to relate the two?” Equation For Charles’s Law V/T = k There is! Where k is a constant!

  6. Boyle's Law Boyle’s Law states that Pressure and volume are inversely related to one another. “Don’t believe me take a look at this application of Boyle’s Law” http://www.chem.iastate.edu/group/Greenbowe/sections/projectfolder/flashfiles/gaslaw/boyles_law_graph.html

  7. Volume Pressure Boyle's Law Graph “ WOW, from this graph doesn’t it stand to reason that, Boyle thought that volume and pressure were inversely related?” THATS RIGHT!

  8. Boyle's Law Continued... Boyle’s Law Equation The equation for Boyle’s Law is where k is the constant. PV=k

  9. Let's Review Boyle’s Law Charles’s Law PV=k V/T=k Thats all Folks!
