Instituto cultural Oaxaca -Intensive Spanish Language since 1984 -Students from all over the world -Located in a welcoming 19th century estate house -Surrounded by private gardens in the colonial center of the city-Spanish language classes with native speakers -Classes conducted entirely in Spanish -Cultural workshops and activities -Intercambio program with members of the community -Optional excursions to nearby places of interest

MCC Academic Credit & Costs SPAN 1810 or 2810—7.5 credit hours (prerequisite is SPAN 1110 or equivalent) Additional academic credit can be arranged $1,350 program fee covers: -Homestay with a family in Oaxaca, Mexico -three meals daily -Excursions: Monte Alban, Mitla and Guelaguetza -Intensive Spanish Language instruction -Conversation classes -Intercambio experience -Cultural workshops -Medical and repatriation insurance -Guidance of 2 MCC Spanish faculty Registration Deadline—April 15, 2009

How do I get involved? • Communicate with MCC Spanish Faculty Member • Complete application • Decide if you want to travel on your own or with the group • Get or renew your passport ONLY when MCC indicates we have enough students to travel • Make decisions about medical needs • Attend pre-travel classes/meetings • Read all materials provided to you • Research • Prepare yourself to leave with all US cares in order so you can focus and enjoy in Mexico

Itinerary • Fly to Oaxaca on Friday, July 24 • Meet host family and orient yourself to city • Receive orientation/placement testing on Saturday, July 25 • Classes begin Monday, July 27 • Plan to walk more, returning to host family for lunch and then back to ICO • Some excursions or free time on weekends • Meetings with faculty & group during experience • Fly back to Omaha on Monday, August 10
