  4. Who he is • Fernando Alonso Díaz • born 29 July 1981 • born in Oviedo, Asturias in northern Spain • mother worked in a department store • father was a mechanic in an explosives factory • Married to a Spanish pop singer • They live in Oxford • He likes card tricks

  5. Why he is famous • two-time World F1 Champion, who is currently racing for Ferrari • Was the youngest driver to win the world Championship 2005 at 24 years - though not now (Lewis Hamilton) • But still youngest double world champion (2005 and 2006)

  6. What he races in • He currently races in a Ferrari • He has taken part in 145 races • He has won 22 times • Has had 55 podium finishes
