Invest in Knowledge! • According to 2011 study U.S. Department of Education (full year median wages for ages 24-35) • Average High School income= $29,000 • Associates Degree income $37,000 • Average College graduate income=$45,000 • Average Graduate degree income=$60,000 • (over a 40 year period a college graduate earns $1.17 million more than a high school graduate. Someone with a graduate degree earns 2 million more. A two year AA provides $180,000 more than a high school graduate. • Imagine trying to survive without at least a high school diploma?

This letter will be mailed to your home address. Letter contains registration directions, usernames and passwords.

Grade Level Classification • Freshman 0 – 4.5 credits • Sophomore 5 – 10.5 credits • Junior 11 – 15.5 credits • Senior 16 and above • Class status determined by earning credits, not years of attendance
Introduction to Tech Ed • During previous registration, more students have selected Introduction to Technology Education than seats available • Choosing the Yearlong class shows a commitment to the program • Please consider classes in the computer department to satisfy computer credit
Elective Credits = CHOICES • Elective classes are your CHOICE. • Choose your elective classes wisely. • Consider your strengths and weakness when determining a manageable course load • Consider your findings from SdMyLife. • Consider your personal interests.
9TH Grade Required Classes • All incoming 9th graders will be registered for the following required classes: • English 9 • Physical Science I, Physical Science 2 • Civics, World Geography • Math 1 or 2*(Your middle school math teacher will provide us a recommended math course for each student.) (Math Lab)
Elective Credits (3 credits) • You will choose 3 total credits of elective classes. • You will take Reading if you do not pass the Reading Test (9th grade reading level required for high school graduation). • A list of elective classes available to 9th graders is provided in your registration handout (green).

Online Registration Instructions • You will need your username and password to complete the On-Line Registration (These were mailed to you) • You will be able to submit your course requests on-line from home or school beginningJanuary 30– February 12, 2013 (Registration Window) • January 30 – February 12, contact Stevens High School (7:30-4:00 PM) for assistance (394-4025 - ask for Marcia) • Communicate your selected courses with your parent/guardian for his/her approval
