  5. Next Revision Process is Starting • TGmc will be formed in September • Tasked with updating 802.11 with new amendments • Prior to starting, opened comment period on current standard

Significance of Comment Period • When writing new amendments, only items pertaining to that specific PAR can be addressed • There is no other time than now to address any other parts of the standard • Standard is too big and complex and Working Group to big and diverse to allow unstructured revision process • Process allows general, open, commenting on the whole standard at the start of a new revision cycle. • The whole standard is under review, now is the time to address not only errors, but anything you might not like (some have proposed eliminating the PICS, for instance)
