Orar = acción de fe. ¿Qué tan fuerte es la fe? • V. 5 – If we lack wisdom for making proper use of afflictions, request it from God. Prayer = action of faith. How strong is our faith?

Recuerde Rom. 4:20. • V. 6 – To ask without faith = insults God. Indicates unstable character. Is. 57:20, same figure used of wicked. Remember Rom. 4:20

• V. 7 – Receives nothing from God. Is like the “dead faith” of 2:26. (Example: I accept the Bible, because if it’s not true, I lose nothing”

No quejarse. • V. 9 – Of humble condition? Don’t complain. 2:5, “Has God not chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him?”

  17. La fe probada – Faith tested • Por eso, no culpar a nadie: “El o ella me tentó”; “me hizo enojar”; “me hizo caer”, etc. ¡NO! Nosotros tenemos la culpa. • Therefore, don’t blame anyone: “He or she tempted me”; “he made me angry”; “he made me fall”. NO! We are to blame.

• V. 16 – “Be not deceived” by gnostics (body is evil, doesn’t matter what it does) or Calvinists (born a sinner, have to sin).
