What is a Wildfire? • A wildfire is a fire that starts in the wild. By the simplest things such as cigarettes or a spark from a car or a chainsaw. • A wildfire is an uncontrolled fire often occurring in wild land areas.
What Causes a Wildfire? • Droughts make everything dry so things can start a fire easily. • Common causes of wildfires include lightning, human carelessness, and volcano eruptions.
Damaged Caused by a Wildfire? • Miles of plains, forests, and animal habitats can be destroyed by these fires.
Steps to Prepare to be safe in a Wildfire. • Close all openings to your house. That includes all doors, windows, and vents. Close any window glass protection like shutters, heavy drapes, and blinds. • Remove light and flammable curtains from the windows.
