SPD 2 • Objective 2 – Economic and social conversion support of structurally affected areas • Approved for period 2004-2006 • Selected projects - co-financed from the European Regional Development Fund • Support granted only for part of the area of Prague – 24 city boroughs, 41 % of the city territory, 31 % of Prague inhabitants
SPD 2 • Overall objective:„Enhancement of the competitive position of the City of Prague through a better utilisation of urban space, and improvement of the innovative business and human environment.“ Priority 1 - 107 240 000 € (75,2%) • Revitalisation and development of the urban environment Priority 2 - 31 793 000 € (22,3%) • Creation of conditions for future prosperity in a selected area Priority 3 - 3 557 000 € (2,5%) • Technical assistance TOTAL – 142 590 000 €(ERDF + national public resources) Types of supported projects (transport, revitalisation…) - Establishment of new technology and science parks, incubators, innovation centres and consultancy centres
The Innovation Centre and Business Incubator (ICBI) • Beneficiary: Technological Innovation Centre ČKD Prague • Realization: 7/2006 - 6/2008 • Eligible costs: 142,5 mil. Kč • Partners: Chamber of Commerce of the City of Prague, Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Czech Technological University in Prague, Municipal government of Prague 9. Project objective: • Support companies in the initial stages of their development and support the growth of the entrepreneurial and economic environment in the Prague region - create a centre for advanced technology • Redevelopment of old factory hall - offices for incubator companies, laboratory space, conferece room • Provide complex system of services for entrepreneurs, and in particular those just starting up (orientated towards research and development and industrial production in particular in the field of mechanical engineering and alternative sources of energy)
Innovation Biomedical Centre (IBC) • Beneficiary: Institute of Experimental Medicine AS CR • Realization: 10/2006 - 7/2008 • Eligible costs: 53,8 mil. Kč • Partners: Technology Centre AS CR, Bulovka University Hospital, Institute of Clinical and Experimental Medicine Project objective: • Create a centre with conditions for commercialization of research and development, technology transfer in the biomedical, support emerging high-tech companies • Construction of 3 floor-building - offices for incubator companies, laboratories for applied research and scale-up technology, conference room • Provide all services that are required for start-up of high-tech companies in biomedicine

CO-FINANCING PRINCIPLE Amount of co-financing Non-state aid projects: Prague City Hall and organizations established by the Prague City Hall –0 % Public service entity – 7.5 % Private entity –10 % State-aid projects: According to the de minimis rule– 20 % (subsidy of max. EUR 200 th.) In accordance with EC Regulation no. 800/2008 (general regulation on block exemptions) – 7.5% - 75% depending on the type of research
OPPC RECAPITULATION - 07/2011 • 8 calls • 679 projects submitted • 217 projects approved • contracts signed with 209 projects of a total volume of • EUR 248.85 mil.), i.e. 90.03 % of the programme´s allocation • 130 projects completed, out of that 88 also closed financially • EUR 150.65 mil. paid, i.e. 54.51 % of the programme´s allocation • EUR 37.96 mil. certified, i.e. 14.2 % of the programme´s allocation (share of the Community)
Area of intervention1.1 Support of environmentally friendly surface public transport Supported activities: • development of the tramline network • barrier-free accessibility of public transport • building of cycling paths • development of the park & ride, bike & ride and kiss & ride systems Eligible applicants: • City of Prague • Operators of urban transport (Prague Public Transport Company) • Owners of railway infrastructure, stations and stops (e.g. Railway Infrastructure Administration)
Area of intervention1.2 Development and accessibility of ICT services Supported activities: • development of municipal administration e-services (e-Government), their accessibility and use • development of telecommunication networks for both fixed and mobile high-speed access (projects focusing on metropolitan and local networks, connections to buildings, establishment of public internet terminals) Eligible applicants: • City of Prague • City boroughs • Non-governmental non-profit organizations
Area of intervention2.1 Area revitalization and protection Supported activities: • revitalization of areas with ecological burdens and damaged and unsuitably used green areas • regeneration of public areas in residential areas • renovation of disused historically valuable buildings and premises • revitalization of waterways and reservoirs • building of noise protection walls and strips of greenery Eligible applicants: • City of Prague • Prague city boroughs • Organizations established by the City of Prague and its boroughs • Non-governmental non-profit organizations
Area of intervention2.2 Economical and sustainable use of energies and natural resources Supported activities: • achievement of energy savings in combination with the use of renewable energy resources • implementation of renewable energy resources Eligible applicants: • City of Prague • Prague city boroughs • Organizations established by the City of Prague and its boroughs • Non-governmental non-profit organizations
