  3. Agenda • Read Chapter 10 and finish Animal Farm • Discuss the upcoming tests on Animal Farm/What is coming up next to make sure ALL students can pass! • Elements of Body Paragraphs • Write Body #1 • Reading Program

  4. Assignments for the year • Response to literature practice essay written out • Discussion portion of Animal Farm • Response to Literature essay Test • Travel Brochure • Race Relations essay • You must turn in all assignments complete and on time in order to pass this semester and walk across the stage. • There are no excuses for late or poor quality work • You only have 9 weeks left! Make them count for yourself!

Do Now • Do Now: CST terms from question release • 5mins to copy these terms and examples down • Purpose- the main point/the reason why the passage was written • Implies- to suggest • Target Audience- the people who are supposed to read the text • Ex: The target audience for an acne advertisement are teenagers with acne • Pattern of Organization- the way the text is organized • Ex: Time sequence, problem-solution, cause-effect, compare-contrast • Contradicts- to go against or be the opposite of something • Table of Contents: Animal Farm Review: Extra Credit………4
