MNC Support Services • Animal Management Department: • Overall management of the entire mammal and bird collection. • 7 satellite stations covering almost 30 000Ha • All husbandry related issues and movement of birds and animals. • Agriculture Department: • Planting and maintenance of trees and grasses for aesthetic value as well as food sources for animals.

  4. Game Capture: • Fully equipped Game capture team. • Used for chemical, passive and mass capture when needed • Bio-security Department: • Fully equipped Bio-security Dept • Daily spraying and disinfecting of camps, people and vehicles • Control measures during disease outbreaks

  5. Veterinary Department: • Fully equipped Veterinary Department. • Vaccinations against all prevalent diseases annually. • Treatment, surgery, monitoring of all species. • Blood collection for disease screening. • Diagnostic Department: • Fully equipped Diagnostic Department. • Vaccinations against all prevalent diseases annually. • Treatment, surgery, monitoring of all species. • Blood collection for disease screening and antibody detection. • PM findings on any mortalities

Research Department: • Equipped research Department. • Genetic Analysis of samples to produce a matrix to prevent inbreeding. • Hormone analysis. • Artificial insemination. • Embryo transfer. • Other related research needs. • Bird sexing • Nutrition Department: • Formulation of animal diets • Ordering of good quality feed

  10. Treatment of the old male that died of Suppurative pneumonia in 2012 All Bongo are vaccinated once a year for Clostridium and FMD. All the bongo were procured from the same supplier.
