1. RESULTS, REPORTS, & FALL REPORTING What happens to reports? What does the sport gain from good reporting?

2. RESULTS All Events are National regardless of the State in which they are held. Results for EvA95 (Prelim) and above are uploaded to the National database. All results for all level Events are collated in NSW and are available from the EvNSW website. EvNSW uses collated results and analyses to record Rider and Horse falls, track eliminations and forwards the XC analysis to the National safety Office Bob Powles. The National Selectors also use the results for squad and selection purposes. Results MUST be in the correct format, totals ‘only’ do not comply with the MER requirements. E.g. Total Jumping penalties 21…is this 4 rails and 5 time pens or 5 rails and 1 time penalty? It is the responsibility of the TD to ensure results can be used for MER’s and forwarded correctly.

3. TD REPORTS The EvNSW TD report records Event statistics, fall reports – type of jump, warnings and suggestions for the OC. TD’s need to send their reports in the required excel format and electronic copies of the maps assist the National Safety Officer (NSO) The sport of Eventing is aware of safety issues and it is necessary for OC’s, TD’s and CD’s to comply with requirements and forward all results and reports electronically in the correct format. Dangerous Riding penalties of 25 should always be recorded in the results. Officials are reminded when giving Official Warnings, Yellow Cards and Dangerous Riding penalties that the Official giving the warning will also be named on the National website. The FEI is very particular about reporting and it is good practice for all Officials to adopt good practices at National Events…. You may wish to peruse being an FEI Official and they allow no room for complacency in reporting.

4. FALL REPORTS • The OC should keep originals of all Fall Reports as an ‘Incident Report’ in case of any insurance issue. • The TD records the fall details in the report. • What caused the fall • Jump related or fall on the flat • Fence Type (if jump related) • What was the speed nearing the jump • Was it rotational • Rider injured • Horse injured • Were the riders and horses checked by the medical staff/ Vet staff

5. COLLATION • All TD reports are saved by EvNSW and are available to: • National Safety Officer (NSO) • The Organising Committee (OC) • The subsequent Technical Delegate (TD) • The Course Designer (CD) • Warnings are collated • Fall of Riders are collated • Fall of Horses are collated

6. WHAT SHOULD HAPPEN • TD’s & CD’s should study the Cross-Country analysis and consider any obstacle that caused problems – either falls of multiple eliminations. • The footing should be considered for falls on the flat. • Riders and trainers should evaluate their program and consider carefully the reason for falls and eliminations.

7. REVERSE QUALIFICATION Reverse qualification applies to EvA95 and up. Therefore EvA80 results must also be correct to allow for a RQ EvA95 rider to remove their RQ The results with the correct FEI code (National use the same codes) are required to administer and every effort should be made by the TD & CD to ensure that the results are correctly recorded at the time of the event.

8. SUMMATION • Good Reporting is essential. • CC courses are continually assessed • Safety and welfare are paramount • Riders are being encouraged to consider their results • Officials are responsible for correct reporting
