Social influence: the exercise of social power by a person or group to change the attitudes or behavior of others in a certain direction • Conformity: A yielding to perceived group pressure. Conformity can be positive and/or negative. • Social Norm: An expected way to behave and believe that is established and enforced by a group

Reflection • What happens when people do not conform to social norms? Think of a movie or book in which a person does not conform and explain what happens to that person.
