Springboard and booster materials are designed to be used by teachers and teaching assistants to help children catch up to age-related expectations in key areas of mathematics: • Springboard 6 materials • Springboard 5 materials • Sample booster lessons

  4. How can I support children with particular gaps in their mathematical understanding? These materials give support for targeted teaching of areas of mathematics that children have not understood earlier in their primary school career • Addition and subtraction tracking chart • Addition and subtraction booklets • Multiplication and division tracking chart • Multiplication and division booklets

  5. What ICT-based resources are available to support children consolidate and practice key knowledge, skills and understanding? • Mathematical activities for Year 6 • Easter CD programs

  6. Where do I find support for providing quality first teaching throughout Year 5 and 6? • The electronic Primary Framework provides support and guidance for teaching mathematics: www.standards.dfes.gov.uk/primaryframework

  7. How can I identify children that need to make accelerated progress to achieve Level 4? • The PNS has produced an example pupil tracking grid to support the ongoing identification of children who are at risk of underachievement • To support children’s progression there is also a whole-school mapping attainment grid

  8. How can I use curricular targets effectively to support children’s achievement in mathematics?
