In principle, the merging and analysis of complementary satellite and in situ measurements can deliver SST products with enhanced accuracy, spatial and temporal coverage. • Emphasis on synergy benefits Quality Control Complete, homogeneous QC data and applications Move incomplete and inhomogeneous data ESIP Federation Meeting 15-18 July 2008
GHRSST-PP Aim and Objectives • Provide the next generation of global SST products for operational and climate applications • Integrated common format products(SST, Sea Ice, uncertainty + auxiliary QC data)included • An operationally efficient methodology for real time fusion of SST data • Services to deliver products to applications in national, regional and international communities • Minimize duplication of activities within the SST Community • Best Science and Applications are not possible without a robust operational data production and discovery capability. • Observations of today are the Climate Data Records (CDR) of tomorrow… ESIP Federation Meeting 15-18 July 2008
