1. e-RAITAMITRA Website KSDA launched its official website http://raitamitra.kar.nic.in in the year 2000. Objectives : To provide G2C , G2G and Intra-Departmental services Clientele : Farmers, Agricultural inputs dealers, General public, Government Departments, staff of KSDA Architecture : Windows /SAN Web Server Databases : SQL Server

2. BhooPhala (Soil Health Analysis ) • Objectives : • To improve Soil Health • Improve accuracy of recommendations. • Avoid human errors in recommendations. • Saving time involved in record keeping .
Soil Health Software • Services : • To enable timely distribution of Soil Health Cards to farmers which will enable • farmers to use adequate Chemical Fertilizers and organic fertilisers based on the soil analysis • Clientele :Farmers, agricultural scientists, policy makers, Government (subsidy schemes) • Architechture :Windows/Standalone application • Databases : MS Access
Soil Health Software Data Updation Mechanism : Through Soil Health Laboratories Roll-out Status : Has been implemented in all the 23 Soil Health Laboratories Future Plan : This application will be up-graded to web-enabled one.

AGRISNET –Centrally sponsored (Agriculture Resources Information System Network) Objectives : • To provide hardware and Internet connectivity to the block level farmers • Improve and provide advisory and extension services to farmers using ICT tools • Development of Decision Support Systems and Databases • Development of Farmer Centric applications such as input availability and quality control of the same (seed, fertilizer, pesticide), Soil Health Card System, cropping pattern, rain-fed farming and organic farming methods

AGRISNET Roll out Status: • In 2008-09 Chikmagalur and Shimoga were selected for Pilot implementation which concluded successfully. • In the current year it will be rolled out to the remaining districts. • The Department will strive to develop farmer centric modules.

Problems faced in execution of e-Governance projects • Time lag between identification, reporting and rectification of problems encountered during data entry at field level • Lack of manpower at Taluk level for data entry in agrisnet • Adds to existing work load
