CER ~ what, why, who, when, where? • What is CER? • Why should our university/business use it? • Who should install, access, update it? • When should we set it up? • How do we set it up? • Lets read the “Using Cisco Emergency Responder” to access these questions. http://docwiki.cisco.com/wiki/Using_Cisco_Emergency_Responder • Post discussion on the Discussion Board in Blackboard.

  3. Step 1 • A picture of a person awake and oriented dialing 911 from their office phone • And/or • A person laying on the floor unconscious with the phone laying near by that had dialed 911 before losing consciousness

  4. Step 2 • Picture/screen shot of how the CER database routes the call from the desk phone through to the Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) or police/dispatch department.

  5. Step 3 • Picture/screenshot of what the extension information looks like in the CER database.

  6. Step 4 • Picture of the dispatch personnel answering the phone and a picture/screenshot of what the CER database information looks like on their system.

  7. Step 5 • Picture of emergency personnel helping person in step 1.

  8. Activity • Take the following extensions and add them to the CER Database. Then reply on the Discussion Board in Blackboard on how the information is then supplied and routed to the PSAP.

  9. Test • Quiz loaded onto the “Quiz” section in Blackboard • Must get an 90% to pass to the next Objective • Each student has 10 minutes to complete test and has three chances.
