Goals for the Workshop DOSAR’s purpose from the beginning has been to work towards enhancing scientific and technological enterprise, particularly in a region with significant relative need in that arena. It has sought to do that, by making more grid computing resources available to more research groups within our region. Where are we in the “big picture” of this effort? B. Goals for the Workshop • DOSAR has made significant contributions to HEP computing and grid deployment. • We have successfully moved from single to multiple experiment involvement. • It is time to broaden our scope. • More balance to our central role in HEP • Greater CMS participation (i.e. get Ole Miss in production!) • Enhance our capability (resources and partners) • e.g. expand coLinux efforts to other sites? • Broaden our impact • Engage, recruit, support users outside of HEP B.
