The Cell Group • The Wesleyan Movement. • The hardest to teach. • Cells are part of God’s Kingdom Efforts. • Coleman’s Master Plan of Discipleship. • A vision: Acts 1:9,3. • Our King: Acts 2:22-36*. • Our job: win people for His kingdom:Acts 28:31 • Cells are building blocks for the Kingdom. • Discipleship is a Group Effort.
Different Approaches • The “Party” Approach • The “Miss America” Approach • The “Dentist-Office” Approach • The “Expert” Approach (Romans 2:19-22 ) • The “Jesus” Approach. • Responded to what they were saying and thinking. John 6:60-61. • Traveled and ate and shared everything with them. John 18:1. • Challenged their thinking. John 6:66.
Avoiding a “Static” Cell • Teach & Pray in Weird Places. • “Roam” at other Churches. • Road Trips! • Pool, Bowling, other “Fun” nights often. • Meeting in Different Homes. • Spy on the opposite sex. • TP Joe Botti’s House. • Cell-Only Dinners.
3 Basic Teaching Principles • Courage: today’s prophets • Sincerity (earnestness) • Material, life itself, the cost involved. • Humility: God gets the glory. • Dependence on the Holy Spirit • Teach His Word, not yours.
Differences from Other Teachings • More “Long-Term” preparation required.(Mt. 10:24) • Not as “formal”. • Not as note-dependant. • More like friend-on-friend. • Doesn’t require a preaching gift. • Less Continuity.
Similarities to Other Teachings: • Winning the “audience”. (Not a policeman) • Spiritual Power (2 Cor. 6:7; Luke 4:32) • Don’t be pushed around! • Polemics. (Don’t just assume interest - John 6:60-61) • Application-oriented. (1Cor. 8:1)

A Practical Example 2 Cor. 5:15-16 “and He died for all, that they who live should no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died and rose again on their behalf. Therefore from now on we recognize no man according to the flesh; even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer. Therefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.
