WcBc - Goals of License Plating • Tracking inventory by License Plate means that the system knows how much of an item/lot is located on each specific Pallet, Roll, Bundle, Container, any type of Containment. When counts are wrong or transactions are made in error, the mistake is usually at the level of one or two units instead of much larger volumes of inventory. Since all inventory is carried by License plate the accuracy is better in all transactions. Example of the Physical Data behind the License Plate Id.
Simplifies Movements of Inventory • Simplifies inventory movements by scanning the License Plate and the WcBc will process all the items/lots with the quantities attached. During all Inventory Movements, Picking, Loading, etc… The Transactions are simplified. For example on a Rack to Rack Transfer the following needs to be Scanned. 1. 2. 3. • Scan the Unit Id, This can be a Pallet or any type of Unit Id. • Scan the Next Unit Id, You can scan up to 12 Unit Id’s or Pallets on a Single “IT” Transfer. • Scan the To Location. In the Item Ledger you will see each Item/Lot/Quantity on the Unit Id being Transferred to the New Location.
Tracking License Plating • Tracking vendor information, Packing slip, Country of Origin, FIFO etc…is more precisely done. Each Unit Id is Tracked and information is Held from the Receipt instead of Item, Lot, and a Total Quantity that is in inventory. Total Weight and Cubes of the Unit Id. Item and Description Quantity and Unit of Measure on the Unit Id Branch Plant Location and Lot Number where the Unit Id resides Unit Id and Pallet Id Load number, If the Unit Id has been Loaded on a Truck Country of Origin, From PO Receipts Original and Last Receipt Date for a True FIFO by Unit Id Parent/Child Unit Id Unit Id can be Held or Released. Very similar as a Lot Hold/Release but by Unit Id
Cycle Counting • Cycle Counting can be done during normal business hours of Receiving, Picking, etc… • What WcBc does differently than JDEdwards. • The Flaw in JDE is that when the Batch is created it Holds the Perpetual Inventory and this is measured as the variance. • What WcBc does, is when the Units are Counted then we Hold the Perpetual Inventory and this is measured as the variance. Time Line of events • Cycle Count Batch is Created @ 08:00:00 AM. Perpetual is 10 EA. • The Unit Id/Item/Lot/Location is Picked @ 08:30:00 AM for a Quantity of 2 EA. • The Unit Id/Item/Lot/Location is counted @ 09:45:00 AM. The Counted Quantity is 9 EA. • Receiving Receives the Unit Id/Item/Lot/Location @ 10:00:00 AM for another 20 EA. • The Batch is Updated and the Unit Id/Item/Lot/Location is increased by 1 EA @ 11:30:00 AM. (JDE Would update the Inventory with a -1 and WcBc would update with a +1)
Pick and Load Manager • Added Module for Pick Manager. This will streamline the Picking and Staging of material waiting for shipment. • Streamline the Picking Process for Containers, improve efficiencies of the Warehouse. Added Module for Load Manager. This will reduce the number of Shipping Errors dramatically. • Insures the right Pallet/Container is Loaded on the Trailer.
Fat Finger • WcBc eliminates what is called Fat Finger entries, the use of the keyboard. The WcBc transactions are scripted in such a way that it walks you through the transaction. • The WcBc captures in the Performance Data and Item Ledger on each field whether it was Scanned or Fat Fingered.
WcBc – Overall Goal’s • Inventory Accuracy will go up. • Material Handler Efficiencies will go up. • Picking/Shipping Errors will go down due to the Pick Manager and Load Manager. • Customer Satisfaction will go up due to the Error free Picking and Loading of Containers. • Streamline the ST/OT Process by Shipping and Receiving of Containers.
