Start Finish 5 1 6 7 4 Weir Pylons 2 3 Launch facing upstream, i.e. bow side close to bank. Move to city side – wait for a race to finish before proceeding beyond the finish line. This will give you the best opportunity to get to a position beyond the weir where you can see the next race coming towards you. After passing finish line:-a) keep to the city bank, i.e. stroke side closest to bank.b) maintain a 5 length distance between yourself and any crew ahead of you,c) do not overtake,d) do not stop unless a race is underway until you have passed through the start line, ande) give way to normal canal traffic – note you will be on the wrong side of the canal, so give a clear signal by pulling into the city bank and stopping. At weir, you will be able to see the start – check for progress of next race.STOP AND MOVE IN CLOSE TO CITY BANK TO ALLOW RACES TO PASS – THEY WILL BE FOCUSSED ON THEIR RACE AND MAY NOT SEE YOU. Once through the start, avoid crews in marshalling area and move across to boathouse bank (normal traffic rules apply – closest bank on bow side). Do not go beyond 2nd pylon. You must be in the marshalling area (50m from start) 5 minutes before your race is scheduled to start. When your race has finished, continue to below 2nd pontoon before turning and landing your boat. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7
